It will implement climate-positive means to produce renewable fuels from crops that do not compete with food supply, for instance Camelina Sativa. Additionally, the company will utilize smart-farming technologies for efficient and sustainable production from every acre of land.
In the next ten years, Watson & Fine plans to employ ten thousand individuals who stand to directly benefit from its integrated agribusiness model, which not only brings them employment, but also education and critical infrastructure such as schools and hospitals to their areas.
The agribusiness segment will be an integrated, global business principally involved in purchase, transportation, processing, warehousing and sale of agricultural commodities and products in East Africa. Watson & Fine operations are based in Tanzania, Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe – the territories predicted to be the future breadbaskets of the world with fertile lands and less than 3 percent farmed optimally. The company will operate 100,000 hectares directly or indirectly under its control and add 6,500 contracted out-growers over the next decade.
